A countdown to the All New Yaris

This summer, the curtain will rise on the All New Yaris. An evolution of its predecessors, the All New Yaris is lower and wider with some sharp styling and a new hybrid powertrain at its heart.

It’s a new generation for Toyota’s best-selling European model, which benefits from significant advances in design and engineering.

The first model to be built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) GA-B modular platform for small cars, the All New Yaris’ foundation results in radical improvements – from dynamic performance and safety to design freedom; aspects which can be found in other TNGA-based models like the new Corolla, C-HR and RAV4.

Another first for the Yaris was that it was the first car in its class to offer a choice of self-charging hybrid power. The 2020 model builds on this with a new 1.5-litre hybrid system, which features a three-cylinder 1.5-litre petrol engine.

As Toyota invests big in the supermini game, the new powertrain delivers better efficiency with low CO2 emissions, improved fuel economy and the ability to run on electric power alone. In fact, it’s been said that the Yaris Hybrid can drive on solely electric power for over 80% of a typical urban journey.

As for its exterior, the All New Yaris has a more prominent, aggressive front grille and bumper, chrome detailing and slimmer LED headlights to create a sportier, dominant shape. And sitting on its new stiffer and lighter underpinnings, the Yaris promises improved safety, sharper handling and softer suspension.

Meanwhile its interior includes an infotainment touchscreen, a wireless charging pad for mobile phones and multiple USB connections. Plus every Yaris gets adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and a new centre airbag.

Delivering style and practicality, the All New Toyota Yaris is designed to respond to the challenges of everyday urban life, so offers low running costs, leading levels of safety, easy parking, agile driving and comfort on long journeys.

The fourth-generation Yaris is set to go on sale mid-2020 with customer deliveries beginning in September. Register your interest at John Roe Toyota.
